a timeline

sometimes i feel like all i'm doing is planning my next big weekend.

that's how summer is around here.

and the ol' blog has suffered.

my apologies.

but i have good excuses.

please refer to my calendar:

weekend #1 - marge, todd and crosby came for a visit and i had all my best friends over.

weekend #2 - i celebrated being 10 years senior a high school graduate.
it was quite the work and in the end,
i couldn't wait for it to be freaking over just so i didn't have to stress anymore.
but i had fun and i think so did the other 100 people that showed.
too bad i forgot my camera.

weekend #3 - ronnie and i are headed to the lake of the ozarks so the turner side of my family can all get together.  this will also be a first in 10 years.

weekend #4 - miss madeline is turning 2 and i can't wait to celebrate with her.
ronnie and i also bought tyler (my nephew on ronzo's side) royals tickets, so we will be spending sunday afternoon at the K.

weekend #5 - ronnie and i are headed to denver for a concert a red rocks.
i cannot freaking wait for vacation.

weekend #6 - ronaldo turns 33. i have a dinner planned with linds and turnbow, a tattoo appointment and a big party with his friends.

weekend #7 - our first weekend off

but the weeks that follow involve a james taylor concert with my family, bridal showers, a concert with friends at the state fair, a road trip to herman for a bachelorette and float trip.

so basically what i'm saying is - call me next september.

until then,

i'm busy.

i got off work today at 1:00

so i thought i would take advantage of the amazing afternoon

and the fact that i am totally involved with the fifty shades of grey series

and read on the deck.

i spent a little too much time here

getting all hot and bothered over my romantic porno novels

until i realized i was just hot and burned.

shit.

send some aloe.

and perhaps some leg make-up for my 10 year class reunion this weekend.

fuck me - i'm going to look like ross after the spray tan episode.

except red.

ps- i just finished book 2 - bring on number 3!

munchies

i was in need of a little snack

and my mom had just the recipe.

you'll need:

3 C crispix

1 box of cheez-its

1 bag of goldfish crackers

2 C pretzels

4 C fritos

1 can mix nuts

melt 2 sticks of butter/margarine

add 2 tsp garlic powder

4 Tbls brown sugar

1/2 tsp garlic salt

1 tsp chili powder

1 tsp worcestershire sauce

6 drops of tabasco (or any hot sauce)

pour that over the mix and stir like crazy.

spread into baking sheets

bake at 250 for 90 mins.

stir every 30 mins.

it's addictive.

trust me.

my backyard.

we've been working pretty hard at trying to make grass grow

and keep the plants we have alive.

i do not have a green thumb,

so by august everything we've done

does have the chance of being totally burned up.

but so far,

i've stained the deck (all by myself, thank you)

and bought a hanging plant for under the umbrella.

ronnie planted three new bushes

since 3 out of the 4 died last summer.

wah wah.

and now we're working on our privacy.

one side of the house is totally covered

and we can sit on our deck in peace.

the other side, however,

is w i d e open.

why, hello there, neighbor's bedroom window.

ew.

no thank you.

so we're going to try to find some sort of

[squatty, bushy, grows fast, kinda big]

tree.

summer: the starting line

it's here.

swimming pools are open

and white pants are acceptable.

the weather even reached a humid 93 degrees yesterday.

while i'm not totally psyched for swimsuit season and blazing weather,

i love all the fun we have every summer.

the good food at bbq's and patio nights:

and this guy seems to be in a better mood when the weather is nice.

i like it.

i even talked him into taking me for some froyo.

(mine is the unhealthy one.  ronnie's is the super stupid one.)
